The 2024 Grand National Festival will take place at Aintree Racecourse from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th April with the main event scheduled for 5.15pm on the Saturday afternoon.

About The Grand National

The Grand National is one of the most-watched horse races in the world and takes place at Aintree each year in April. It's a race that is loved by racegoers, horse racing fans and the general public due to its test of both stamina and agility and the very frequent drama that it produces.

The race dates back over 180 years with it first being run in 1839. It's viewed by millions of people worldwide and is one of the biggest betting events of the year for both punters and bookmakers.

The famous Red Rum is the most successful horse ever to take part in the Grand National, winning the race three times in 1973, 1974 and 1977.

Grand National Ante Post Tips

Ante-post betting on the Grand National can be a great way to get the best odds on the horses, but it can also be risky, as you're betting before the final declarations have been made and before you know which horses are definitely going to run.

Several horses will drop out in the weeks and months leading up to the race and so you're taking the chance that your selections will run when placing a bet in advance.
