Arabian Tales Slot Review

Arabian Tales draws inspiration from famous stories that are of Middle Eastern descent, and what you see here is the interpretation that Rival Gaming has given to this theme, which others have also attempted. They went for a game with 50 pay lines, giving you plenty of chances to hit a win each round, especially since they’ve kept the setup of 5 reels and 3 symbols for each column. You get from it expanding wilds, multipliers, free spins and scatters. The biggest prize possible can reach a cash value of $37,500.

Expect a game that’s inspired by the Arabian Nights stories, so there are various characters on those reels, including sultans, bandits, a princess, the genie and the lamp, plus a few others.

Betting & Jackpots

You pick the number of coins, their value and the number of active lines, so you have full control over the bet value. You can use up to 50 active lines each round, with no more than 10 coins in each case. Since the coins will only go up to $0.25 in value, you end up with a maximum bet of $125, each line getting $2.50 at most.

To get the big prize, you have to land on one of the active lines five symbols with the Sultan in them. The payout will get up to 2,500x, which means up to $6,250 cash. It jumps to $18,750 if won during the free spins, where wins are tripled. Add the wild’s multiplier as well, and you can win $37,500.

Arabian Tales Bonus Features

The Magic Lamp is one of the more well known images that people get from the Arabian Nights stories, right along with that of the Genie. Both are images which were used for feature triggers in this slot machine. First, we have the Magic Lamp, serving as an expanding wild that can replace any other symbol, so that a new win line can be formed. It doesn’t take the place of a scatter, and it expands only if this gets you a new combo. 2x multipliers get applied to these combinations, which the wild contributes to.

The Genie is also present among the symbols, as I’ve mentioned, and it’s a scatter ability that it has in this case. Have it appear in any location, at least three times, and you get 12 to 50 free spins, plus a 3x multiplier. During this feature you can get the best prizes of the game, provided that everything lines up just right.

A second scatter is used for the sole purpose of getting you paid. The Tiger will do that, offering a reward that gives you back 1 to 50 times the amount you spent that spin, in exchange for 2 to 5 symbols visible.

Theme & Graphics Quality

The theme, being inspired by Arabian culture and stories, uses many images that we’ve seen in books, animation series or other slot machines that have the same topic. There are Arabic buildings in the background of the game, behind the reels. The symbols are placed on transparent reels, and they include the image of the Genie, a tiger, a magic lamp, the sultan, a bandit, a princess, magic carpets, knives, books and Arabic style Royals, poker cards ranging from the 9 to the Ace.

I’ve found the cartoon style design of Arabian Tales to be fairly consistent with my expectations from it. It looks like the cartoons that I’ve watched as a kid, the symbols being of very good quality overall. The one thing that I’m going to complain about is the preference for the poker cards when it comes to lower paying symbols. They’re going to appear often, so most of the positions will have them, rather than the symbols which are actually interesting.

Arabian Tales looks good, has all the right features to give you, offers plenty of pay lines to get you paid often, and with the help of multipliers you might even get paid well.
