3.10 Doncaster – Bandello – EW @ 15/2 with Bet365 (Harry’s Tip)

I think there is good reason to take on the short-priced favourite today and John Quinn’s Bandello might be the answer in what looks like a fascinating race on paper.

After running very green in the early stages of his debut at Carlisle, Quinn’s two-year-old stuck on well to only be beaten three lengths at the line. Ahead of him were rivals with plenty of experience under their belts and dropping into a race today full of debutants, his prior racecourse knowledge may pay dividends.

Free Nation is likely to be a warm order at the top of the market after his promising debut at Windsor but he too was very green and 7/4 is short enough.

Hopefully, Bandello can build on his promising debut if running another solid race, he should be capable of being there at the finish.

7:50 Newbury – Tony Montana – WIN @ 8/11 with William Hill (Lee’s Tip)

It’s a case of “say hello to my little friend” in the 7:50 at Newbury.

Sent off favourite on debut, my selection was beaten by a nice filly in Bluestocking who has subsequently ran third in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. Third on that occasion was Racingbreaks Ryder who has won four on the bounce since, franking the form massively.

Fingers were burnt second time out after being sent off 8-11 over this course and distance and only managing third place. To me, he looked in need of more experience having slightly wandered around that day. Not many have ran from that particular race but the seventh has come out and won since.

To his third run last time out, he ran in a hot Group 3, the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Trying to beat the likes of Waipiro (winner), who finished sixth in a Derby behind the likes of Auguste Rodin and King of Steel, was never going to be an easy task.

This Kingman colt has conditions similar to those he experienced first time out and with that potential, combined with the experience gained from his three runs, I hope to see my selection in the winner’s enclosure today.

3:00 Newmarket – Redemption Time – EW @ 25/1 with Bet365 (Ash’s Tip)

REDEMPTION TIME is the first horse of the new series that I’m putting up at a big each-way price.

Although some may have dismissed his chances, his last run at York, a maiden outing over six furlongs this season, was full of promise as he finished a staying on sixth behind horses who reappear today.

He is set to run off the same mark as he did last time out with the first four from that race all running off a higher mark in opposition today.

Furthermore, the £220,000 yearling purchase has some nice two-year-old form which could suggest a mark of 87 is lenient; his third to Noble Style at Ascot in May 2022, a race that included Royal Scotsman one place behind is a perfect piece of form to illustrate this point.

Hopefully, a patient ride under Ray Dawson can help guide Clive Cox’s charge to success in the big three-year-old handicap.
